Southern Cross The Australian Freedom Party where democracy is all that counts

The building of Southern Cross Party Ltd is not about power, it is about freedom,
It is about choice and it’s about the rights of all Australians to determine the future direction of our country.

We intend to introduce a ‘Bill of Rights’ to protect individuals from being trampled on by Governments and their instrumentalities, the Australian ‘Bill of Rights’ will be very similar to the American system, where legislators will not be able to erode Australian individual rights for their own benefit or the benefit of others.

Southern Cross Party Ltd will not be lead down the path of deceit on issues of Global Warming, Free Trade, National Competition Policy, Economic Rationalism,
Or any of the things the people of this country are forced by Government to endure but do not agree to.

How do we achieve this? Very simple answer, do away with ‘Party Politics’ we need parties to butt out of dictating to the people and let democracy prevail in the Parliament.

This is why Southern Cross Party Ltd will promote a party of Independents that operate under a party structure; this is a radical move away from the dictatorial control of the party power brokers.

We as a political administrative party will work on developing solutions, (not policy) to problems, issues and crisis as they arise, policy will be the outcome of decisions made in the parliament.

We will not be putting in place half baked predetermined Policies developed in some back room by people who have no idea and in most cases no interest in the outcomes other than to support party policy.

‘Southern Cross Party Ltd has no Policies’. We have a pledge which outlines the changes that need to be made and for which we with the help of community will develop solutions, these will go before your sitting members in the parliament to be debated and for policy to be spelt out and developed in accordance with the wishes of the people.

Democracy depends on people taking an interest in politics, no interest, no democracy;

In this age of electronic technology we intend to run a government website that will conduct voter polls on a regular basis where a directive can be gauged based on percentage votes, this system will endeavor to use a registration process linked to the electoral roll (to avoid multiple votes) and the vote will be electorate specific, we see this as a way of getting grass roots people to participate in the process of government, public opinion is a powerful tool and we wish to make it available to all Australians.

Southern Cross is in its infancy at the moment, we have a good concept, a population looking for something different, and a country that deserves a better future, we need people to join our ranks and build a strong membership, we need more representation on our board from all States, we also need quality candidates to stand in every electorate, we also need money to fund a national campaign to promote the new political initiative.

The road ahead is not paved with gold and we face an uphill battle against the major Parties, but I believe we can still make a difference, but do we have the will to take the fight up to the Government and Opposition? It is my hope to get consensus from the people and gauge the reaction, if the mood is positive we will continue to promote the new Party, if the mood is negative we will abandon the whole idea.

We encourage everyone to check the website for more information.

What is your position ?
