Dr Ivan Molloy on Political Vacuum

Through their budgets, Howard and Rudd have drawn a line in the sand. The Government's core interest is corporate capital, while Rudd is captive of the unions. Apart from that, however, there is no real ideological difference between them. Both embrace managerialism, economic rationalism and the globalisation of Australia's economy, leaving a vast mass of Australian voters politically unrepresented . While powerful, big business and the unions represent only small minority interests in Australian society leaving the rural sector, middle level professionals, small business, city-based contractors, and many disillusioned Nationals and old Labor workers wallowing in a political vacuum. This disparate group has long been anti-globalisation, anti "Free" but pro - a "Fair trade regime", strongly economic nationalist and even pro-green. Recently this was much of One Nation's ground, which now abandoned lacks a political voice. Nowhere do Rudd or Howard seek to seek a secure future for the nation by investing heavily in Australian-owned infrastructure and utilities, nowhere is there any commitment to "buy back and build up the farm". If ever there was a time for a smarter, nationalist but non-racist version of One Nation to emerge, it is now. Can Southern Cross fill this vacuum?

A New Force

The time is ripe , The Liberals have perpetrated their agenda and those responsible , are now retired out on their cusshy handout packages while the rest of us suffer the wrath of globalism as our country is invaded by corporate foreigners.
Only Australians, the people can put a stop to the Cancer which is Corporate Governance in Australia.
We fought long and hard for Freedom, Property Rights, ownership, a right to self determination, fair Laws that apply to all, and above all Peace under Gods Laws.
Today, you've broken a dozen laws or regulations before you even get to work in the morning, assuming you are lucky enough to have a lousy paying job.
The conservative parties are dead , and the People need to get their own people, Independents, serving their immediate communities concerns, up to the task in such a way that appeases the majority of voters. Hanson got media crucified for telling the truth- so isn't the lesson to only place on the table what the people want to hear. Petrol at 50C a litre , the tax office replaced by the debit tax system, take care of our own first before we become the humanitarian stooge of the NWO. Removal of licensing agencies and requirements for same, re arm the people as a first line of defence. etc etc. Restore the role of Police and the Courts, where people can feel rewarded for doing right and can only be punished for doing wrong. Plus a Constitution and a Bill of Rights , incorporating Magna Charta , written by Australians for the benefit and cohesion of Australians.
There is more, but I get tired trying to make my country MY HOME, and a place I can enjoy living well on, to leave a positive legacy, and to live in Love Not FEAR. I am a human not a number.

The political vacuum

If so many in society are disillusioned and left wallowing in this political vacuum why have the minor parties not been afforded more of a presence in the Senate? Surely this is the place that the Australian people can have some voice if they really don’t want, or at least don’t like, the major party’s policies. The narrowness of vision that voters display in simply following the path of voting for one or the other of the major parties is surely a reflection on the lack of understanding of the majority on out political systems. I am hoping it doesn’t reflect what voters really ‘want’ - do voters see little or no value in the minor parties - is that what underpins the ability of Liberal and Labor to sell the same story with different headlines. I think what we need to promote real dynamic change in the political landscape of this country is more proactive education of the public in politics and political systems in general. Dr Molloy is obviously doing this at university level and this is important... but the knowledge must be imparted to the majority of the population as well and that takes a long term commitment - is Southern Cross the party to do that ? If so, maybe they are a party that will one day fill a void. If not, they will have a limited life span as many minor parties do because the voting public still won’t understand how to use them effectively.

G'day Digger

Good to hear from u! Gladens my heart to hear the voice of another greenie! I'd begun to believe we must have gone extinct, and I never noticed.

The reason greens have become the red under the bed is simply because those portrayed and funded as greens by the "system" are, in fact, reds under the bed! This turns the majority of Australians against greens. Thus, the rape of the nation can continue. The same tactic is used by the "system" on Aborigional policies. They are weighted in a fashion designed to alienate white and black Australians. Immigration and illegal immigration are used to aleniate Muslems and Christians, Asians and any other ethnec mix. This ensures all Australians won't unite against the system. The crime rate, largely created by proahibitionest drug laws, terrorists and the like, are used to scare the population into accepting dreconian laws which enslave them.

The same scenario is played in every country in the world, one way or another. So the rape of the planet continues and will continue untill all Australians stand up to the "system". Once one country on the planet does that and gets away with it, the planet has a chance!

Australia has a chance of getting away with it because we are not only capable of self sufficiency, but we have resourses the rest of the planet must have to survive. Once Australia showed the way, I reckon the rest will follow. Then it's a shew in for the planet.

How did the greens become the new boggy man under the bed?

Before we had greens we had reds to be frightened of. Most of the people who dump on the greenies have never met one. To be precise, lets talk about greenies not the greens party.

Most feelings and thoughts and media comment that is attributed to the greenies is actually not from the greenies at all. It is from regular middle class Australia. True greenies have seen enough footage of whales being harpooned and forest being cleared to become a little hardened. They now tend concentrate on the big picture issues (climate change, wild rivers, environmental sustainability etc). If someone is getting emotional about a local issue, it is almost certain that it is a member of the public rather than a politically active greenie.

You need to learn to distinguish between real greenies and mythical greenies. Real greenies are interested in two things; a sustainable future and protecting some of the biodiversity on this wonderful planet. Those aims are not objectionable to those farmers who understand and love their land.
