From the first of January 2009 we will see the demise of the old and new Australian pubs as we knew them, the money hungry Qld State Gov is now attacking the time honoured right of every Aussie to get into a good old pub brawl.
Worse than that the poor old publican will wear huge fines for his patrons disorderly conduct by way of Government applied fines that will be added to his liquor licence on renewal, as much as $30,000 at a time, I don’t believe this is Australian at all, in fact I think it stinks, the publicans are struggling to make a living at the moment as it is.
Over the past few months we have seen plenty of changes and not many, if any, that are for the better, the new Qld Conservative Party LNP (Lawrence’s New Party) seems to be struggling to capture the imagination of the past members from the Liberal and National Parties and the community.
The building of Southern Cross Party Ltd is not about power, it is about freedom,
It is about choice and it’s about the rights of all Australians to determine the future direction of our country.
We intend to introduce a ‘Bill of Rights’ to protect individuals from being trampled on by Governments and their instrumentalities, the Australian ‘Bill of Rights’ will be very similar to the American system, where legislators will not be able to erode Australian individual rights for their own benefit or the benefit of others.
Driving Hours
The current driving hours, and driving hours variations are adequate in their present form, they allow enough flexibility to carry out most tasks associated with livestock and general transport and remain within the law, I believe that safety is not compromised under the present systems.
Through their budgets, Howard and Rudd have drawn a line in the sand. The Government's core interest is corporate capital, while Rudd is captive of the unions. Apart from that, however, there is no real ideological difference between them. Both embrace managerialism, economic rationalism and the globalisation of Australia's economy, leaving a vast mass of Australian voters politically unrepresented .
Here we go again, the Premier has set himself up as judge and executioner on what is good for the State of Queensland, we now have a dictator running the state, the 'Boy' Minister Andrew Fraser is also showing himself to be rude and arrogant with no regard for the local government act or the wishes of the Queensland people, his attitude is to be of great concern if this is the face of labor politics in the future.
“New log book fines and demerit points for driving offences will now compound the driver shortage in the road transport sector in Queensland, not only are they ill conceived they are going to make life on the road impossible; demerit points for log book breaches will see many drivers lose their licences and hence their livelihood leaving families without an income.
Ensure that all elected members will represent the electorate first and foremost and be independent from the party in the parliament; members will vote on conscience on every issue or at the direction of the electorate, and will not be bound by party politics, this is an essential part of the new party structure.
Require that no party elected leader may serve more that two consecutive terms in office. (Prime Minister, Premiers or Party Presidents, Federal, State and Branch
Repeal all legislation that is in conflict with our rights as Australian citizens.
Bravo for Independents. Those of us who truly support our communities first, believe party machines have taken their toll on democracy in this country. Party machines serve to keep governments in power at the cost of true democracy. It is party bureaucrats and elites using the whip of party discipline that demand politicians tow the party line rather than be true to their principles or their electorates. Just think of Peter Garrett as a primary example of the corruption of political principle for the sake of power.
